Why Creative Changemaking?
Our work is inspired by the life and work of Dan Eldon, a Reuters photojournalist who was killed while reporting on the war and famine in Somalia in 1993. Dan believed storytelling could build empathy, move people to action, and create a better world. In the wake of his death, his mother, Kathy Eldon, coined the term Creative Activist and founded Creative Visions to inspire youth to use their voices, like Dan’s, for positive change.

Creative Changemakers, formerly known as Rock Your World, includes lessons and resources that help students build confidence in their ability to make positive changes in their communities and to become well-informed, engaged citizens. Flexible, free, and fully aligned with Common Core and SEL Standards, Creative Changemakers helps students think critically and act creatively.

Who Makes Your Heart Race? (Module 2, Lesson 1)
This lesson will guide students as they begin to independently explore changemakers and how these changemakers use art/media to highlight their issues. This step-stone lesson will lead students to discover their own causes and select their own methods of creative changemaking.
